The Verdict is in and Wordpress Wins the Overall Best Open Source CMS Award!

Wordpress wins the Overall Best Open Source CMS Award in the 2009 Open Source CMS Awards. WordPress has won this Award for the first time in the past four years, earning itself a place in the Hall of Fame category for the Award next year.
Wordpress also came in runner-up for the Best Open Source PHP CMS Category in the 2009 Open Source CMS Award. This category featured a very close contest between the top three, Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla! in which Drupal ended up as the overall choice for the judges and the public.

WordPress really is the way to go. I’m sure the other content management systems out there are really just as good, but I think it is the ecosystem that makes WP so robust, which makes everyone a winner

Wordpress is really best for blogers. Its very friendly and reliable platform for the blogger. Wordpress deserve this.
This is a great article! I saw this on WordPress.org, but am still baffled. While WordPress is much easier for the beginner, Drupal is much more robust and flexible, perfect for more advanced users. Not to bash WordPress because all of my sites are built on WP. If I knew more PHP, I’d be doing everything in Drupal… maybe that’s why WP won the award!
